Hi everyone. I just thought I’d check in before the semester starts again. Wow, a lot has been going on recently. Where do I even start? Let’s go for a brief update on my last post.

I’m sure everyone has been following at least some of the news coming out of Haiti regarding the recovery efforts after the earthquake. There is good news and bad news. The bad news is that many people have perished as a result of this disaster. It was a terrible tragedy for a nation that was already in dire straits. The last estimate regarding the number of deaths I heard was approximately 200,000. Too many. However, the good news is that many people and organizations from around the world are contributing to recovery efforts. CNN is estimating that donations from the U.S. alone are in excess of 200 million dollars. This money is coming right out of people’s pockets and they’re doing it by choice. That is something to be proud of. It will take many years to build Haiti back up after this disaster, but with generosity like we’ve seen so far, people can feel hopeful again.

Let’s move onto Glee. I’ll make this post a little bit of everything. Why not? First of all, I am so happy for the entire cast for winning at the Golden Globes last night. They won best TV series without even completing their first season! That’s just incredible, especially considering how tough it is to make a successful TV show these days. Congrats to the cast! Ok, now let’s spill the beans a little bit. I have a couple different sources for Glee news and I have gathered the following: Kurt will be getting a boyfriend and they are going to be out there, together, and proud of it. Yeah baby! Also, Jennifer Lopez has agreed to guest start on the show as a lunch lady. I wish I went to McKinley High. A new character will be cast on the show to give Rachel a run for her money. That’ll be good for her. However, I don’t want Rachel to sing any less. Lea Michele has an amazing voice and it would be a shame to cut her singing down. Apparently, Puck and Rachel will get back together. I don’t know how they’ll do this, especially given that Rachel is on Finn’s side regarding the whole Quinn and Puck baby situation. Stay tuned. Finally, it looks like Olivia Newton John and Bruce Springsteen will appear at some point. And Kristin Chenowith will be back too.

My mini twitter obsession: still going strong. I stay logged in and keep refreshing the home page when I’m at my computer. However, I can still boast that I’ve never tweeted. My amazing bf Ian has though. He responded to Lady Gaga when she posted about having to cancel a concert due to dehydration and fainting. She was so devastated about letting her fans down, so he replied to her to wish her well and tell her that her fans understood. At this point, I’m still a lurker. Also, I’m sure the amount of time I’ll have to keep checking twitter will decrease when I’m back in classes.

What else? I think that’s all I have for now. I want to do a website of the week soon though. That was one of the columns from the previous iteration of this blog that I am still excited about. Let me work on finding one before the end of the week. I’ll make it a goal. Hopefully I keep it.

I haven’t forgotten about my promise to provide twitter updates from celebrities to you guys, so here is what I have for tonight:

Last night, Chris Colfer posted on Dianna Agron’s twitter page. He told her that he had a crazy pirate dream and it reminded him of the time the two of them went to the pirate museum in Chicago. (Really? One of those exists?)

Tonight, Ryan Seacrest was thanking people for their donations to the Haiti fun that he and Ben Stiller launched on the Larry King show. He posted multiple times, and his last post estimated that people have pledged almost 8 million dollars so far! (Great job everyone!)

And I’m out. Talk to ya soon.
